E-cycling Update:

CCNRD collected and e-cycled nearly 4,000 pounds of old, broken or obsolete electronics this summer!  The district is no longer collecting items for e-cycling.  If you still have items to dispose of, contact the district to learn about future e-cycling opportunities!  Read more....

UAA Update:

CCNRD gathered data on numerous sites throughout the county in order to “ground-truth” a newly developed model intended to help streamline the process known as Use Attainability Analysis or UAA.  This data will be processed and the effectiveness of the model determined, and it is hoped that the project will improve the accuracy and effectiveness of WDEQ’s efforts to address water quality issues around the state, minimizing the number of waterbodies incorrectly listed as impaired by ensuring that the most appropriate standards are being applied to each body of water.  This project is still underway; CCNRD will continue to offer updates through the newsletter, newspaper articles and the website.  In the meantime, feel free to contact the district if you have comments or questions on the project!

2010 WATER QUALITY MONITORING SEASON BEGINS!

In keeping with the locally-developed Belle Fourche River Watershed Plan, CCNRD has been monitoring water quality on the Belle Fourche and Donkey Creek during the summer recreation season.  CCNRD’s 2010 water quality monitoring season is complete, and the district is in the process of internally reviewing the 2010 data.  Next, the district will submit the provisional data set to WDEQ for a Quality Assurance/Quality Control review to confirm that it is scientifically credible.     Read more......
